Sagittarius is a fire sign in the mutable modality and we have an incredible concentration of mutable energy at this new moon! We have the Sun and Moon conjunct, we have Mercury retrograde plus Venus also in Sagittarius and we have Saturn about to exit the sign, and all this points the way to really understand the Sagittarian energy. This new moon directs us to go with the flow, to seek out an inspired vision with the opportunity to become part of something bigger than ourselves. Enthusiasm rises with this moon, and we connect with the desire to expand our limits. So, allow yourself to be spontaneous and trust that if things change, then there might be a higher purpose to it. Sagittarius people are idealists and have a tendency to speak out, both their own visions but also where they feel others are most likely to shine. Another part of this combined energy, especially kudos to Saturn, is saying:
With all new moons we start a new cycle, and today with the last one of the year, we sense the new one in the horizon. Sagittarius is all about travels and higher knowledge, so what would you like to learn, see, explore in 2018? Anything that expands your heart and mind is highly favored by this lunar event and directs us to surrender, play and feel the lightness of spirit. Under this influence we are all reminded to align with our deepest truth and to have the courage to move, express and create from that truth. Enjoy the magic given by Sagittarius and Happy Holidays! ~ Christine K.H ~

Saturn, the Lord of Karma, is about to head home and we are all going to feel a profound shift in our lives. While in its home constellation of Capricorn, Saturn will be able to express all of its best qualities and will beam them down to Earth for all of us to learn and grow from. So what are some of the things that Capricorn rules? To start with, Capricorn is the ruler of governments, politics and authority figures, so Saturn in Capricorn could bring extra focus on these areas, for good or bad. Some may fall and some may strengthen, some may change and evolve and some may be challenged or feared. Our goals, ambitions, and careers are also ruled by Capricorn, along with recognition and the public eye. Saturn and Capricorn are adulthood, sobering us with the realities of what we can and can not do. Under this influence you can see clearly where you're heading and assess. - Is this the direction I want go? - What do I need to do to stay on course, or to change course? It's a time to adjust your focus. Maybe your life has turned out differently than you expected. If so, now is the perfect time to embrace what your life is, not what you thought it should be or would be. Make a Plan: When Saturn enters Capricorn, it’s not the time to leave your life up to fate. Think about what you want from your job, your relationships and yourself, and then make a plan that can lead you to those goals. This union will guide us all to return to our roots and to find a new sense of belonging with who we truly are. Saturn represents boundaries, responsibility and maturity. In fact, Saturn is often viewed as the harsh teacher in astrology. True, Saturn may give you hard lessons and demand that all homework is done, but as long as you embrace the lessons and work hard, Saturn will always reward you. Saturn remains about 2 1/2 years in each sign, bringing us to core of needs to be done and to think long-term. Nothing is done in haste with either planet or sign, but will provide the stage for us to rise to our full potential. To see how this will influence you personally, look in your birth horoscope for planets, points and house in the sign of Capricorn. ~ Christine K.H ~ At the same time Mercury, the planet of communication and ruler of Gemini, goes retrograde we also have a full moon. Mercury retrogrades in Sagittarius, the sign opposite Gemini so all together it feels like the Gemini qualities are very central the upcoming weeks. Both planet and sign are linked to communication, travel and social interaction, expressing a need to engage by sharing and exploring new ideas. The full moon is about closure, bringing decision and action to the table, whereas a planet in retrograde motion tends to slow things down, urging us to reflect. Two very different approaches! Every full moon asks that you release one thing in your life in order to create space for the new so as you read these below, ask yourself what you can let go of to make room for the new chapter to begin. Change will never happen easily if we do not first create the empty space in our lives. So making room will be the first step of your full moon manifestation. Some things to focus on:
This lunar event might be less of a "quick fix" than other full moons, instead pay attention to what unfolds in your life after December 22nd when Mercury goes direct again. Breath in the spirit of Gemini, embrace the fact that everything changes, nothing stays the same! ~ Christine K.H ~ When Mercury goes retrograde in Sagittarius, it is time for a quest to discover meaning and to see where in your life your could benefit from a broader perspective or even patience. Intellect and awareness are all within Mercury's domain, as are logic and reasoning and how we manner, create and express our thoughts. Now in retrograde motion, errors are bound to happen!
The arena for this drama is in Sagittarius, the sign of learning, truth and yes...long travels. When retrograde Mercury is in this highly outspoken sign it can can trigger an onslaught of opinions that would be better left unsaid. Although you may feel the need to address a particular matter, you may in fact, make things worse. Generally speaking, practice being mindful and use this time for research and inner work. How to survive a three week communication crisis? Mercury rules over all types of communication, whether it is writing, speaking, reading, social media interactions, technology, or any other method of transmitting information. It also rules transportation and travels, and during Mercury retrograde periods, there are more noticeable disruptions, breakdowns, and complications within all of these areas. The key is planning, and to approach life events as a source of personal and spiritual growth. This Mercury retrograde period leads into the winter holidays, when we anticipate (with pleasure or pain) spending time with family. Remember that time spent with even the most flawed family can be world-expanding if you approach it all as a pilgrim-explorer ready to find helpful meaning and growth in all your experiences. ~ Christine K.H ~ |
