 The astrological themes for each full moon can start to be felt in the week leading up to it. Sometimes the events and circumstances that happen to us around the full moon will create an awareness within ourselves that we need to change or let go of something.
With the sun in Cancer vs the moon in opposite sign Capricorn the polarity concerns the balance between the private and the public life. The message of the full moon is to "release what no longer serves us" and this time the Universe directs our attention to the realms ruled by Capricorn: ambition, responsibility, work ethics, leadership, achievements and will power. Capricorn and Cancer have both a strong need for security and if you have built your foundation mainly upon materialistic values (Capricorn) then now look closer at your emotional ones (Cancer). A shift is likely to occur when logic meets inner values in life and if you have been too set in your ways then this moon might be a wake up call. As we are surrounded by an energy very much linked to discipline and control, finding a way to empower ourselves and others is one of the best ways to work with this energy. Mars in Scorpio Neptune, Chiron in Pisces New moon in Cancer (July 4th) With so many planets in the water signs the emotional energy flows powerfully during the first half of July. While we are more in touch with our feelings, needs and dreams combined with an increasing compassion, there's defiantly another side to this sensitive coin. When there is such a strong emphasis and activation of emotions, it's important to be mindful of our actions, reactions and how we channel our sensitivities. For many spiritual people, the emphatic ability for sensing and feeling the energy that others project is natural but we all need to be clear about keeping our own energy cleansed. We have several energetic layers surrounding and creating the person we are, these fields are known as auras which operate to filter psychic pollution that we come in contact with in life. The US born the 4th of July is therefor ruled by Cancer, so this new moon gives an extra spark to your birthday party. The lunar event still rules the day and it's a signal to start fresh, set up new goals and to redirect our actions before it all culminates with the next full moon. The moon is the ruler of Cancer which puts a big focus on our emotional well being and needs in addition to how we care for others and our selves.
