Theme: Make new friends and nurture the old!
It's time to find your tribe! Aquarius rules the zodiac’s eleventh house of group activity. At this new moon, we’re encouraged to find like-minded people who can take our ideas, beliefs and dreams to the next level. The Aquarius new moon represents freedom and liberation, directing us to organizations and alliances, as well as social acquaintances and how we relate to other people. No person is an island, and the Aquarius new moon reminds us of our need to share our energy with others in healthy ways. So, where in your life could you collaborate or just have more fun in the company of others? Push yourself past your comfort zone and attend that mixer, workshop or event you have been drawn to for a while. The energy now favors it. The drum-roll of the day is change combined with a sense of clarity and healthy objectivity. Meaning, if you try to change your life when your internal environment has not yet shifted, it can be a fruitless exercise possibly leading you back to the same place you started out from. A full moon always takes place with the moon (ruler of your internal self) forming an opposition with the sun (ruler of your external self) - creating inner turmoil and forcing us into action. Now in Cancer, the sign she rules, she is able to express her powers to the fullest. Or is she?
With a near blank slate full of potential, the beginning of the new year might feel both overwhelming and hopeful. With two retrogrades in full swing (Mars, the planet of action and Mercury, the planet of communication) that much awaited forward motion could throw you off. One thing is sure, you’re bound to get swept up in intense emotions, potentially with a sensation of frustration, being stuck or just plain tired, in the mix. The moon also represents what makes us feel safe and secure as well as our ability to nurture ourselves and to take care of our emotional needs. The Cancer lunar event invites you to stand up for those needs, your comfort and your security. Who or what has been standing in the way of peace for you? Confrontations that arise during this time have likely been brewing for a long time.
