Full moon Capricorn ~ July 19, 2016

The astrological themes for each full moon can start to be felt in the week leading up to it. Sometimes the events and circumstances that happen to us around the full moon will create an awareness within ourselves that we need to change or let go of something.

With the sun in Cancer vs the moon in opposite sign Capricorn the polarity concerns the balance between the private and the public life.


​The message of the full moon is to "release what no longer serves us" and this time the Universe directs our attention to the realms ruled by Capricorn: ambition, responsibility, work ethics, leadership, achievements and will power. Capricorn and Cancer have both a strong need for security and if you have built your foundation mainly upon mate­r­ialistic values (Capricorn) then now look closer at your emotional ones (Cancer). A shift is likely to occur when logic meets inner values in life and if you have been too set in your ways then this moon might be a wake up call.

As we are surrounded by an energy very much linked to discipline and control, finding a way to empower ourselves and others is one of the best ways to work with this energy. The key is to confront internal imbalances head on and to build lasting emotional as well as material structures. If you are familiar with your birth horoscope, then look for planets/points around 27 degrees in both Capricorn and Cancer. Here lies the experience of change on a deeper level.
